Sunset the Machine Releases New Single: “Nameless City”

I did two reviews for Sunset the Machine back in December. One for Queen of the Monsters that sounded like it could be a mix of Living Color, Offspring and Motorhead and another for Owl Scream that sounded more like a mix of Hawkwind (Yes-I know the connection between Hawkwind and Motorhead) and Dream Theater with maybe some David Bowie.

This new track, “Nameless City”, gives some of the same but with some dope new sounds as well.

I gotta say that opening bassline hooked me from the start with it’s gnarly, dirty ass feel. It actually reminds me of the intro to “Motorhead” by Hawkwind (We have now come full circle)!

The guitar riff that follows is a rad ass garage rock/metal riff and the vocals are delivered a bit laid back and then go on the attack. And that guitar lead is slick as fuck. My favorite part of the drumming is when they’re opening and closing the hi-hat to emphasis the riff—sick!

This would have fit in with releases during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.

If you’re a fan of H.P. Lovecraft, then you’ve already noted that the song title is from a story of he same name, so the lyrics have that dark, horror story quality to them.

Check out their song and Bandcamp and give it a purchase!
