Take Out the Blade Releases New Single, “Lowlife (Worthless)”

Take Out the Blade’s first single, “Lowlife (Worthless)”, is my kind of metal with lots of 80’s style thrash with some more 90’s slow riffage thrown in to mix it up. There’s a dope hardcore style breakdown around the 90 second mark with some rad chanted vocals that I could see the crowd joining in on. The vocals are not fancy high pitched metal nor are they the deep guttural growl of death metal bands. They are more the screamed/sung/shouted vocals that you’d hear in early DRI records. There is just a tinge of classic hardcore from bands like RKL and Gang Green in there too. I could see this band playing with bands like Nuclear Assault or The Cro-Mags in the 80’s or rocking around with Municipal Waste right now.

They’ve got a show tomorrow night in Chicago, and if my brother wasn’t out of town, I’d tell him to get his ass to the show, but even if he can’t make it, you should get your ass there.

You can check them out on their Spotify or my Metal Playlist

And since I do run a live album on vinyl record label, I found a dope live video of this song:
