Twentytwo's new single "Oneder" has Nothing to do with That Thing You Do, but it does Have Everything to Do with Bringing the Rock!

Their influences pull on that pop punk sound created by bands like Bad Religion and then taken to a different step by bands like Rise Against or Alkaline Trio with some of the rawness in the vocals at times that takes you to Chuck Ragan and Hot Water Music.

The intro is a just above mid temp riff that with a vocal verse that sings with just a little gristle in the voice before building to a full on scream and then changing into sweet melody. It might be two different vocalists on these parts, but don’t quote me on that.

It all builds to a big chorus with group harmonized vocals that are catchy as fuck.

The double bass drums and the guitar riffage give it a little of that punk metal feel. Not as much as say Propagandhi but along the lines of Strung Out.

The vocal solo towards the end that leads in the final build that ends right as you’re on the edge of jumping off the cliff is dope.
