Heartbent Release New Single: “Agony”
Heartbent…are you a metal band? An emo band? A hardcore band? Oh…all of those huh. In one song? Okay. Let me hear it. hmmmm. Can I say one word: Fuck.
Oh you want more? Fine, “Agony” starts off as a straight up hard rock metal song with a great groove riff and solid clean vocals with some subtle screamed vocals in the background. Then it kicks into the chorus bringing those powerful melodic female vocal skills to the forefront sung with metal intensity mixed with a pop punk sensibility.
At about the four minute mark more hardcore punk style riffage overlayed with a blazing guitar solo wheren I could see people leaning towards the stage doing their finger wagging at the glory of it all, which is followed by straight up metalcore style vocals. You’ll have to listen yourself to hear how it ends…mandolin? Jaw harp? Didgeridoo?
This is some rad shit. And yes, it helps that they are from Bal-more. My love for The Charm City and all that comes from his abyss is well known, but they are worthy to be part of one of my favorite past homes.
