Mesmerized Reviews DCxPC Live & Dead Vol. 1Moat Cobra

DCxPC Empowers Moat Cobra’s New Live and Studio Album

Joining the DCxPC family, Florida’s metal outfit Moat Cobra has released a mixed live and studio album, showcasing their punch, charisma and absolute class. For the uninitiated, DCxCP is an American underground record label that has been quite active recently. Their ethos is mainly to highlight live recordings in the punk and metal communities, although – as with Moat Cobra – some studio material has started slipping through the tracks. A good thing, a sign that the project is growing.

Moat Cobra feature on the label’s latest effort, titled ‘DCxPC Live & Dead Vol. 1 Presents Moat Cobra’. In it, the keen listener will rejoice in the sludge and hardcore punk so fiercely championed by the group. Seven live tracks open the record, letting us catch a glimpse of the sheer power Moat Cobra has to offer. The live side feels more punchy and gritty, a sign that the studio version might be more polished, in that sense.

Honestly, this is a fantastic record. Scouted by DCxPC, the Florida punk outfit manage to pack energy and charisma into a record that feels raw, yet complex and multi-sided. The contrast between the live and the dead (studio) sides is particularly entertaining: Moat Cobra certainly behave in the studio! 🙂
