Punkhead Interviews FORTITUDE about DCxPC Live Vol. 12

Fortitude On the Making Of ‘DCxPC Live Vol. 12 Fortitude Live at Lou's’

By Katrina Yang

How does 'DCxPC Live Vol. 12 Fortitude Live at Lou's' reflect your musical journey and growth as a band?

This release basically encompasses 25 years of FORTITUDE Old Ethics Hardcore, the songs span our 10+ previous releases & 25 years of representing what we have always called Old Ethics Florida Hardcore, keeping old school punk rock & hardcore Ethics alive through positivity & trying to use our platform to present topics that go against the grain & norm of regular society.

Can you share any memorable experiences or stories from performing 'DCxPC Live Vol. 12 Fortitude Live at Lou's' live?

This show was very special for us because it was one of the 1st times our singer Pat's kids got to come see us play live & to have them doing backups throughout the recording is another big thrill & just another amazing accomplishment for us to help pass the torch onto the younger generation.

What is your personal favorite song from the album and why?

I love all these songs on the record some of these songs have lasted 25 years & are still relevant, the songs that have made it this long that we still play are all great imo, it's hard to choose just one-

How would you describe your band's overall stage presence and the energy you bring to your live shows?

We try now to let the music do most of the talking for us at this stage in our lives & careers. We used to be the band that just jumped around & went nuts now we still do our thing just at a different pace & speed due to some medical issues we have all experienced over the years that have hindered our mobility.

What advice would you give to emerging bands looking to improve their live show performances and connect with audiences?

All I would suggest is to take rehearsals & personal practice very seriously. Get your music & product down before just getting in front of people & screaming or playing your instrument. Have a solid product & people will appreciate what you're doing no matter what style of music…
