Sticky Steve grew up in a swampy suburb in central Florida. He started playing the drums around 2004 and taught himself some basic guitar soon after. He played in a few bands and started writing music by himself until around 2016, when David Yanik booked his first show.

Sticky Steve's folk song "Vultures (Live)" is a hauntingly beautiful and evocative piece that weaves together introspective lyrics with a rustic and organic musical arrangement. With its inclusion on the compilation DCxPC Live Vol. 22, the song showcases a raw and unfiltered performance that captures the essence of folk music's storytelling tradition.

From the moment the first chords are struck, "Vultures (Live)" sets a contemplative and somber tone. Sticky Steve's voice, weathered and emotive, instantly draws the listener into the narrative he unfolds. The lyrics are a poignant exploration of vulnerability and the sense of being preyed upon by unseen forces, much like vultures circling overhead.

The simplicity of the musical arrangement allows the lyrics to take center stage, emphasizing the raw emotions conveyed. The acoustic guitar provides a backdrop that is both melancholic and comforting, evoking images of vast landscapes and introspective moments.

Sticky Steve's performance on "Vultures (Live)" is sincere and heartfelt, capturing the essence of folk music's authenticity. There's a genuine connection between the artist and his material, evident in every note he sings and every strum of the guitar. The live recording format only enhances this sense of immediacy and genuine expression.

"Vultures (Live)" is a folk song that taps into universal themes of vulnerability, resilience, and the search for meaning in the face of life's challenges. Sticky Steve's performance is a testament to the power of folk music to communicate deeply personal experiences in a way that resonates with a wider audience. With its inclusion on DCxPC Live Vol. 22, "Vultures (Live)" finds a place among a collection of songs that share a common thread of authenticity and emotional resonance.
