Artists Online Reviews DCxPC Live Vol. 22 Sticky Steve, Borrowed Sparks, Jacob Danielsen-Moore and Dougie Flesh & The Slashers

The emotion of live performances is a pleasure that every music lover cannot do without. The years of the pandemic and the social restrictions imposed due to the global covid-19 pandemic have undermined the concert activity for a long time.

Thousands of artists and bands around the world have had to interrupt their live activity because they do not comply with the regulations aimed at containing the infections, promulgated by various governments around the world. In that limited and castrating context there are those who have worked to keep the music from stopping by publishing streaming performances of various artists.

A concrete example of this initiative is represented by the operation carried out by the DCxPC label. After the health emergency, on the wave of the success of the initiative, the Label continued to publish live performances recorded at the historic Uncle Lou's in Orlando, Florida. The latest release of DCxPC is the Live Vol.22 which shows us the performance of four artists of the underground punk scene: Sticky Steve , Borrowed Sparks , Jacob Danielsen-Moore and Dougie Flesh & Slasher .

Again on this exciting new live album we capture the spirit and energy of live performance, with the characteristic raw and sincere sound that captures the spontaneity and soul of the musicians. Unlike the previous editions characterized by electric guitars and pounding rhythms, this album collects the performances of bands that stylistically differ from punk in the strict sense.

The first artist on the list is Sticky Steve who expresses himself through a mix of punk and folk to great effect. The pieces proposed by Sticky Steve are Cathedrals , Vultures and Waves . In this acoustic context we can appreciate the singer's rough voice telling stories accompanied by the guitar which is produced in lively, pressing and engaging rhythms. His performance gives us the image of an angry storyteller.

The second artist is Borrowed Spark. His style is inspired by country music and also his way of playing the guitar is based on the typical techniques of this genre. His warm voice offers us a more intimate type of experience, but no less energetic and engaging. The pieces performed are Are You Listening , Man With A Different Name and Patron Saint .

Jacob Danielsen-Moore's performance is completely different, three acoustic pieces that range between the warmth of folk music and the aggressiveness of punk, giving us an incredibly intense show in which we witness a damn functional minimalism. Coke Dick Motorcycle Awesome opens the performance followed by OF (Only Fans) and Deep Valley.

To close the disc three songs performed by Dougie Flesh & The Slashers, an incredibly energetic psychobilly band. Their acoustic performance is as enthralling as a pure rock'n'roll concert at full volume. I Want To Belive , Printerdix and Something In The Shadows are the songs that are performed. We greatly appreciate this performance which pours rock'n'roll vibes into the spirit of punk.

This disc has the advantage of bringing together four very different artists, but united by the wild spirit of punk that also emerges in this unplugged incarnation. Highly recommended!
