Razorcake Reviews: DCxPC Live Vol 8: ann beretta Live Like a Riot! Live from the Broadberry (Acoustic) 12”

Longtime Ann Beretta fans will appreciate having this live recording from their near sold-out show opening for Face To Face in 2018. The sound quality is excellent, making you feel like you’re in the crowd at the Broadberry.

Longtime Ann Beretta fans will appreciate having this live recording from their near sold-out show opening for Face To Face in 2018. The sound quality is excellent, making you feel like you’re in the crowd at the Broadberry. The set includes popular tracks from their discography as well as the deep cut “Like a Riot,” that the band has seldom played live. Admittedly, I was only vaguely familiar with Ann Beretta prior to this LP, and Live Like a Riot! felt like a solid intro to the band. –Paul J. Comeau (DCxPC, dcpcbooking@gmail.com, dcxpclive.com)

Indieoclock Reviews DCxPC Live Vol. 8 ann beretta Live Like a Riot (acoustic)

The acoustic album starts with the track "Vengeance", which has a very light and pleasant sound, a high spirits atmosphere, with light beats and a country-style guitar riff. With this sound, the listener feels the sweet part of revenge or even that revenge neither kills nor poisons (Reference to popular sayings here in Brazil). It's brilliant and contagious, with a vocal that captivates the listener with something like a drive in the voice, husky, which fits perfectly into the song.
