Pkew Pkew Pkew Release New Single “Farside Bathroom”!

I have so many questions. The minute I heard the title about the a “Farside Bathoom” I was taken back to my favorite comic strip next to Calvin and Hobbes i.e. The Farside. So was this song about reading The Farside in the bathroom? If so, I could 1000% relate. As the song plays, I realize the the Farside is a place with a bathroom covered with comics, if the image on their social media is accurate, there is an old G.I. Joe comic in there which is perfect for a band named Pkew Pkew Pkew. (On a side note, I had to dig out my old G.I. Joe vs. Transformers where G.I. Joe killed Bumblebee who later returned as Goldbug—ah memories).

But my mystery doesn’t end with the realization that the Farside is a place. What kind of place is it? A comic book shop? A bar that loves comics? An IT company filled with IT comic lovers (As if that would ever happen—IT people tend to prefer stuff like watching golf on TV or reading Reader’s Digest, am I right? Yeah you know I’m right.) So what is Farside?

Letting that mystery sit with me in the ambiguity of my confusion wrapped in a burrito of enigmatic quandary, I will have to settle for loving the actual fucking music.

For those of you unfamiliar with Pkew Pkew Pkew they play a form of hillbilly grindcore. Think NPR bluegrass station mixed with early Napalm Death and some Magrudergrind. Oh wait. LoL. Now that I’m actually listening to it, it I hear that it is some melodic pop punk that both manages to be amazingly catchy while being a fucking banger. If you’re a fan of The Fest (Which they are playing again) or bands like The Menzingers, then you’ll dig the fuck out of this. So the next time you’re hiding out in the bathroom trying to avoid responsibility or just avoiding the overwhelming requirements of social life by pretending to drop a deuce, put this shit on and realize that you’re not alone—well in the stall you’re alone, but in the life practice of avoiding shit in the bathroom, you’re in good company.

On a sidenote, if the mention of the “bar” wasn’t a clue that it was a bar, the video clearly made me see that it is indeed a bar. I’ll have to make a point of going there to read the comics on their wall.
