The Period Bomb’s New Single “Macho Bird” Is A Gentle Artistic Romp Through The Eyes of An Innocent Lost Child in Search of Kindness…or is it?

It was all I could do to not title this Period Bomb’s New Single, Macho Bird, Did Not Bomb or Oh shit! Period Bomb is Da Bomb! But enough about me avoiding cheesy titles. On to this dope ass song and great video.

The video I was sent starts with a Daily Show style interview with a Maga supporter being asked if Trump will make things better….ugh. I don’t know if the whole song is about mocking Trump and his overly “macho” supporters, but I’m going to decide that it is because I like that idea.

I also love the animated classic WWF rubber dolls (not action figures—dolls) that I used to play with when I was young. Mixed with the psychedlic imagery and colors, this was as much fun to watch as it was to listen to.

Speaking of listening, it’s a good mix of punk and grunge with just some weird shit thrown in there. I could see them travelling back in time to tour with The Plasmatics, The Cramps, and The Butthole Surfers or playing a kick ass show today with one of my favorite local bands in Florida — Piss Test or maybe if my old DC band, The Twats do another reunion show.

The closest they are coming to me on their November tour is Philadelphia on a Monday. Damn it that I have to work and then have class the next day. If you’re near them, check them out, take video and send it to me. I’m sure it’s gonna kick ass.

You can listen to them on Spotify and check their tour dates there as well.

You can also check them out with other bangers on my punk playlist

Follow them on IG and Bandcamp or check out their label Crasslips Records
