Bradley Palermo and The Shadow Queens Release New Single: “The Devils Finds a Way”!
If “The Devil Finds a Way” is representative of what Bradley Palermo x The Shadow Queens produce on the regular, I’m a fan for sure. This reminds me a little of the opening track for True Blood, and I could easily have been happy to see them as another act on the bill when I saw Gogol Bordello and Amigo the Devil a couple of years ago. The vocals are rich and filled with lamentful acceptance, which matches the sadly upbeat (is that really a thing?) mood of the music. This is the sort of track that I want to call folk punk, but that’s not really accurate since it is not bar chords banged out on an acoustic guitar, but the soul of punk is there infused in what they do. DIY folk with a punk soul.
Check them out on Spotify or on my (folk) punk playlist
You can find all the info you need on his Linktree and on their webpage
Their 12” is on preorder now, and I’d be scooping that up for sure, but all my money is tied up in my own vinyl releases. Ah the joys of running a record label.
