The Deflators “Liar, Liar” is a Ramonescore Classic!

Okay this band is brand new out of Jersey. The first thing that struck me was the cover. It was very reminenscent of The Donna’s - Bitchin’ album which was a take off of Motley Crue’s Too Fast for Love, though not as direct as The Middle-Aged Queers - Too Fag for Love. See photos below to see what I’m talking about.

So maybe it was a coincident or maybe not, but if it was it was a rad one because it wet my desire to plunge into this shit. As expected this song has a dope Ramonescore feel while also being unique with some new wave aspects that do not prevent it from rocking.

There is a rad lyric video with images reminiscent of my elementary years when I rocked dayglow cloths and took my Gameboy on every car ride. The lyric part is cool, but not really needed because the vocals are crips and clear and probably the most clear marker of Ramones-ness since it’s definitely got that Joey Ramone quality to it.

Their promo sheet was filled with self-deprecation, snarky sarcasm (is there a different type), and and NJ. In other words, this is a punk rock n’ roll band that’s here to play music that speaks to them and if you don’t like it, you should, but if you don’t, they’ll probably just write a song about you.
