The Going Rate Release New Skangle: “Beard Bones”
The Going Rate has me ready to go to their next fucking show. Super catchy ska horn melodies, sick vocals and ska rhythms that are calling to me get up and start skanking. It’s one of those bands whose ska influences are so broad, you could tell me they were a 2nd wave band or a 3rd wave or a recent addition to Bad Time Records, and I’d believe you either way.
I’m trying to make a vocal comparison and the easy thing would be to compare their vocalist to The Selector, Dancehall Crashers, or Catbite, but none of those are accurate. Their singer has a unique tone of of their own, and deserve to just be considered fucking rad for being them.
I couldn’t find a place called Beard Bones on the Google, but from the song it’s a haven for those who want to let go, dance, and enjoy the night's temptations, with an air of mystery and allure surrounding it i.e. a place in which Going Rate would be the perfect soundtrack.

Maybe they’ll come out on 12/15 when I play there with my band Leave it Behind and our buds in Soji and Urban Waste? I’d buy half of them a beer—sorry too many to buy the whole band a beer.
It’s also where we recorded our forthcoming split 12” with Long Island’s Skapossitory and Staten Island’s Scum Shots!
Oh did Skangle work or was that just trying too hard? Be honest, I can take it. LOL.
