Pinkish Releases New Song “Hearts of Palm”
The minute I hit play, I did a double take. I immediately recognized those vocals as Nina from Wet Nurse one of my all-time favorite Orlando area bands. They were the first local band I really got into when I moved to Florida all those many years ago. This new band, Pinkish, is just as damn good. Their first single, “Hearts of Palm” has got that pop punk mixed with early Sub Pop sound. So it’s less 50’s garage surf than Wet Nurse could be and more akin to some songs from bands like Oceanator.
This is the first single from this Charlottesville, VA band with a planned six-song EP planned for sometime around December 2024. I for one will be keeping an ear out for it.
Not sure if they plan to travel beyond their area or not, but I’d certainly love to bring them up to the Hudson Valley, if only so I can see them live.
You can check out their stuff on their Spotify or my Punk Playlist or my Indie Rock/Grunge Playlist.
Make sure to follow them on IG
If you happen to be in the RVA area on 11/7 catch them at the show listed below and make sure to record a couple of songs and post them — ‘cause I love live recordings!
