The Jack Knives Release New Single: “The Time We Had”!

Every now and then I get to review a straight up rock n’ roll band albeit with some punk rock influences like Social Distortion but also similar to (folk) punk artists like Dave Hause, Chuck Ragan or Frank Turner but with also a very close resemblance to Bruce Springsteen or John “Cougar” Mellencamp (I’ll never drop the Cougar!), and I have to say its refreshing.

It’s the sort of rock song, I wish I had in my wheelhouse all summer for playing at full volume with the windows down on my way to the swimming hole or chilling outside with friends in a beer garden.

If you’re unconcerned with forcing bands into a genre and allowing punk to be more than a standard sound and more of a part of the soul of the musician that can be expressed in various sonic ways, then give this shit a listen and just fucking enjoy.

Listen here if you don’t believe me:

You can also check them out on their Spotify or on my punk playlist full of bangers!

Go to their website for links to all their social and other rad shit.
