Ben Senses Releases New Song: “El Cerrito”
Ben Senses new single, “El Cerrito”, give us that emo inspired folk punk with undertones of pop punk. It sounds to me like Spoonboy (a la Max Levine Ensemble") mixed with Dashboard Confessional. The song is one of unreciprocated love with someone who’s love just doesn’t quiet equate to the love you give or need. It delivered with honesty and is easily relatable. I can imagine this going really well at DIY venues like the old Greenhouse in Vienna, VA or the Wilson Center in DC.
Sadly Ben Senses started doing shows in 2010, two years after I moved away from the DC area, so I never got to see them live, but maybe someday, somewhere, somehow.
In the meantime, I’ll just have to dig them on Spotify or on my (folk) punk playlist
