Smile Deadly Releases New Single: “Forgiven Me”
Smile Deadly plays punk rock that speaks to their name. Like the Dance Hall Crashers, it’s super catchy pop punk but with lyrics that belie the happy sound in the music. You’ll catch yourself humming to the song and then you’ll start singing along and if you’re paying attention you’ll realize that lyrics are angst filled and brooding despite the upbeat sunny disposition of the music. It’s always a fun combo. I’m not sure if it’s negative music for positive people or positive music for negative people. Maybe it’s just good fucking music.
