The Endless Mountain Derelicts New Single, “Burn It Down” is Out!
It’s no secret that I love the folk punk, cow punk, country punk, etc. whether its Lucero, Tim Barry, Chuck Ragan or Matt Pless. Not to mention my own recent release of acoustic punk with Stick Steve, Borrowed Sparks, Jacob Danielsen-Moore and Dougie Flesh & The Slachers, so it should be no surprise that I’m really digging “Burn It Down” by The Endless Mountain Derelicts!
While nothing in their sound or bio tells me that EMD comes from a punk background, I could still clearly see them playing with Lucero or Borrowed Sparks and would fit well on one of Chuck Ragan’s revival tours.
Mixing folk, alt country, blue grass and pure fucking rock n’ roll I would love to see them whether it’s in a dark bar with a PBR or at some outside beer garden drinking a craft IPA or maybe a good whiskey. And no, you don’t need alcohol to enjoy a band but since this songs message seems to be a call for alcohol to “Burn it Down” by erasing memories of some long ago, but not forgotten, heartbreak as a means of letting go if only for one night, then yes alcohol seems to be in order—at least for this song.
