Garland Green Releases New Single: “Baby Blue”!

Tasmania’s Garland Green (I hope they all wear Steve Buscemi masks) play some rad ass melodic skate punk with hints of metal of the type you might hear from Strung Out, Rise Against or A Wilhelm Scream.

Their new song, “Baby Blue”, features some sick double guitar interplay, powerful and rich vocal melodies and a rhythm section that does more than pound shit, they find the groove of the song. The backing vocals both come in with full support and sometimes hang back and provide more of a muted support that really works for song. With the metal influence, I was a little surprised that there was no blazing guitar solo, but the song didn’t actually need one, and it’s nice to have the song take a route different than my expectations.

Lyrically the song seems to relate to reliving past experiences whether to lament the past or to wryly look back and laugh. The beauty of lyrics like this is that while being specific, they are also vague enough for every listener to co-construct a meaning of their own.

Check them out on their Spotify or on my Spotify punk playlist full of bangers
