Adrian and Meredith Release New Single: “NFT”

Adrian and Meredith’s new single, “NFT”, made me immediately think of Gogol Bordello mixed with Squirrel Nut Zippers. The song is catchy, dancey and lyrically interesting as they try to explore what is the value of art and who decides that value. I could easily have seen them playing with Escaple from the Zoo and Run Rabbit Run a few years back or maybe even gigging around with all the other rad as fuck (folk) punk artists that I love: Austin Lucas, Matt Pless, Madison Turner, Amigo the Devil, Matthew W. Charles, etc.

Or if we travelled back in time I’d love to have seen them along with Mischief Brew or The Zydepunks.

But don’t get me wrong, this is not just a band that should only play with (folk) punk, they should be out there playing full punk rock shows, and NO they should not have to be the opening act just because they aren’t aggressive distorted punk. They have more than enough energy in their performance to play in the middle or even to close out the night.

Don’t believe me? Check out their live album on Bandcamp:

This shit is killer. Wish it was on vinyl. If only there was a live album viny record label out there. “Cough, Cough”.

You can listen to their new single on their Spotify or on my (Folk) Punk Playlist
