Nihiloceros Releases New Single: “Penguin Wings”
Nihiloceros bring their self-proclaimed punk pop with just the does of grunge goodness to you in full effect with their new song, “Penguin Wings”! It gives me a distinct Jawbreaker vibe while also sounding totally fresh and different. You’ve got loud rock guitars, sad pop melodies, brit rock riffage and more!
The song starts together with the whole band kicking in the song as one force that pulls back a bit for the verse so the vocals can take center stage. This is what really reminds me of Jawbreaker. But then the chorus hits and it’s more Husker Du like in that it’s melodic but you’ve gotta dig through all the distortion and riffage to get the melody.
Love the way the guitar and vocals blend when they sing "Penguin Wings” and the following guitar lead is rad too. And then it abruptly ends making me wish it went on, so I just had to listen to it again. And again. And then again. And so forth.
