Common Crime Releases Two New Singles: “Repressions” and “Call of the Rat”
Common Crime bring us a rocking version of emo pop punk with their two new songs from their forthcoming EP, “Repressions” and “Call of the Rat”.
“Repressions” starts off reminding me a bit of Debt Neglector, then the big chorus hits in and I hear PUP and The Menzingers. This is followed by a dope guitar lead followed by some anguished screaming/shouting with pop punk style breakdowns. And then it ends softly without resolution.
“Call of the Rat” is a harder edged and starts off with more of a gnarly rock riff and has more aggressive vocals. I dig the big gang vocals on the chorus. This song is less complex than the first but also has more kick for your ass. Speaking of kicking your ass, they bring the thrash at the fucking end!
Both songs are rad, so you should give them a listen and buy their shit on Bandcamp:
You can also check out their stuff on their Spotify or my Punk Playlist
