Brad Pittance and The Pirates Release New Single: “One Night Stand”

From the very start “One Night Stand” by Brad Pittance and The Pirates took me back to the mid-90s when I was in high school, and I had just started getting into ska. One of my favorite purchases back then was a four-CD compilation called Ska Wars with bands like Judge Dread, Bad Manners, The Selector, and The Loafers. This rad ass song would have fit perfectly on that comp.

So while obviously serving up ska rooted in bands from several decades ago, this band still sounds fresh and exciting both in its song writing but also in the delivery and plain fucking fun of the song.

From what I can tell the dude in the song is looking for a one-night stand with a girl, but whiffs on that and winds up instead finds himself loving the music and the band that he was initially not interested in. In my opinion, his night was all the better for it.

If you dig classic ska 1st and 2nd wave ska then you seriously need to give this a listen or a make it a hundred listens.

Give them a listen on their Spotify or on my Ska Playlist

Also since I’m a live album vinyl record label, here’s a dope live video:
