Gender Reveal Atomic Bomb Releases New Single: “Generation Atomic Bomb”
Damn this band just rips. I’m loving this new single especially how I can’t give it a direct comparison to anything. Closest I can do is say that the chorus about the bomb reminds me a little of “Cherry Bomb” by the Runaways, but I’m not sure I would if they both didn’t mention bomb.
This shit is light hearted, but also serious and crazy interesting. I love the lyrics:
She met him in class
He said “I like your taste”
She could sing like a missile
He could shred on bass
So they went after school
And played a song
It was nuclear fusion
It was an atomic bomb!
I also love that they say they are similar to Bikini Kill, Rage Against the Machine and Rush who all sound nothing alike and probably only have any connection because each was an innovator of their style of rock. I had to listen to some other songs to get the Rage and the Rush influence, but it’s there.
The la la la part is also really fun. Which is basically this band—fucking fun. Wish I could have found a full clip of them live, but no such luck.
Based in Belgium, there seems little chance to see this stateside, but since two members are American siblings, maybe some version of this will make it over here, if so I’ll drop in for sure.
