Coma Beach Release New Single: “Another Song”!

So after having reviewed “Jesus Tears” off the same album, The Scapegoat’s Agony, as this song a few months back, I thought I knew exactly how this would sound. Instead this song brings that a totally different style in that instead of fuzzed out guitars, the guitars are all clean and give that feeling of a song I’d hear on a Stiff Little Fingers’ or Dropkick Murphys’ album. The singer still remind me of the Beltones, but the second vocalist has more of that classic 70’s British punk snotty sound.

The sound might have something to do with it’s Irish inspiration of the album. Per the band, “The album title is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the - for the most part - painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.”

It’s fucking great to know that a band can release two such distinct sounding songs on the same album while also still sounding like the same band. This is super catchy but with just enough grit that it is not meant to be on the radio, even if they didn’t repeat the word “ejaculation” several times. The song is dripping with sarcasm and cynicism. I can’t quite decide if it’s a negative song for positive people, or a positive song for negative people, so I guess you’ll need to listen yourself to figure it out.

You can also check them out on Spotify or on my punk playlist or my (folk) punk playlist.

Check out their socials too: FB, Soundcloud, IG, Bandcamp
