2toaroom Release New Self-Titled EP!

A couple months ago I reviewed two songs by 2toaroom, “Nitrous” and “New Punk Song”, but now I get the honor to review their self-titled, four-song EP! It’s a raw, rad, gnarly fist of punk rock in your face. Very classic 80’s hardcore sound that I love.

“Fuck my Pool Boy” reminds me of a mix between early TSOL and some Waste Youth. I could see this song fitting with any songs by bands on Decline of the Western Civilization.

“This Time” comes in a bit faster with a dope guitar slide/riff thing going on that was pretty sick. The spoken word part felt very Keith Morris like. Solid as fucking punk rock tune.

“Nitrous” from what I can tell its the same recording I reviewed early but remastered to sound bigger and more full which is not complaint from me. Still love the catchy chorus and that wicked discordant guitar solo at the end.

“Mr. Asparagus” closes out the EP by opening with a brutal as fuck scream that goes into super aggressive and raw vocals that reminds me of Rollins a bit. Love the guitar noodling in there—and that solo has a Greg Ginn feel to it. The breakdown with the super deep almost metal vocals was a sick surprise. The ending just leaves it all on the floor. While I can’t see myself singing “Mr. Asparagus”, I cant totally hear how I’d be wanting to grab the mic with a half dozen other people during this ending and pile on each other screaming just that. Well done sirs. Well done indeed.
