Phantom Bay’s Newest Single Is “Airtight” in Name and Quality!

When I toured Germany twenty plus years ago, I played with a lot of sick bands, but these dudes would have been killer to play with. The song has a sick opening riff that could have come off of Black Flag First Four Years, but then gets into a verse with some melodic duel guitar work and vocals that have that Richmond, VA 90’s melodic hardcore sound. I know they’re screaming that there is no solution to the world’s problems, but I also can feel that their solution is making this music.

They provide a rad modern take on the melodic hardcore of the 90’s, and would have fit in great on a label like No Idea Records. Which I guess is appropriate because they are coming stateside to play Fest in Gainesville this year. I’m glad I got a chance to review this because they were not on my radar as of yet, but now I’ll add them to my list of bands to see. They’re not on the list of bands that often play Orlando’s Foreign Dissent a week before Fest, so Fest will be most people’s only chance to see them. I for one am going to make a point of it.

Check them out on their socials: Instagram, Linktree, Facebook, and Spotify

Also listen to them on my punk playlist with other bangers
