Proud House of Shmucks Releases New Single: “Manic”
So this is one of those instances, where I’m really glad the band explained the song a bit. I was checking this out, and besides it being a dope ass punk song, there was something else about it that sounded so naggingly familiar. Once I read their info, I was like HOT DAMN! THAT’S IT! These motherfuckers were paying homage to one of the greatest Simpsons songs out there: “Canyonaro.” If you know you know, and if you don’t…may God have mercy on your soul, because I sure won’t.
I have to wonder if their band name’s inclusion of the word “house” is chosen because it sounds like an entire punk house of influences from skate punk, to hardcore, to oi and even some friggin’ ska and all in one rad ass song.
They recently reformed after a ten year hiatus and are working on a full length to which I say - ME WANT! So lets hope they finish that shit and leave Detroit to tour and hit NY, so I can check these dudes out live.
