The Human Fund Release New Single: “Everyone is Poser Except Larry the Cucumber”
So I have a two teen kids, so I had a modicum of exposer to Larry the Cucumber and Veggie Tales when they were younger (though they preferred shows like Yo Gabba Gabba and Sponge Bob), but little did I know that this singing cucumber from a Christian based TV show is actually the punkest motherfucker around. He’d give Jawbreaker 3 punk points, and then take 7 away leaving them with negative four because he’s that punk. He’ll fucking tell you the score.
Musically this is some solid noise based punk rock that would have fit right in on any early SST release back in the 1980s and there is some definite Biafra-esque snarkniess sarcasm throughout the song. At one point, I felt like they were definitely specifically calling out Anti-Flag and Stolen Wheelchairs for the shit that you should all know about, and if you don’t…then fucking figure it out.
This due is from central Connecticut, so I’d love to catch them live or play a show with them anywhere between their homebase and mine in the Hudson Valley of NY.
