Motel Portrait Release New Single: “I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOUI LOVE YOU ”
Having played a handful of shows in Frederick, MD 20 years ago or so where the redneck population were generally none-too-happy to see a bunch of punks roll up, it’s great to see that this band is from that area. Between the Crass t-shirt and the sound that blends everything from punk to noise to blackgaze they bring a distinctive sound that is simultaneously familiar and yet new and deeply engaging. From the steady drum roll that intros the song into a angry and pissed of slab of distortion backed by vocals that go from crack rock style to pure death metal.
I would love to see this live and enjoy the full intensity of this sonic barrage.
Oh and I had to cut out a few “I Love You” from the title because Squarespace wouldn’t let me save a title with more than 200 characters.
