Nite Sobs Release New Album: Fade Out

When I first heard Fade Out by Nite Sobs, my initial thought was, damn this is so fucking catchy. It's like a mix of the band from That Thing You Do with touches of The Replacements, The Beach Boys, Buddy Holly and Elvis Costello.

The album opens with “Do You Wanna Be in Love with Me”, and the answer is yes, fucking yes! Especially if by in love with you, you mean do I want to be in love with your music in the same way that I love boiled football leather, dog’s breadth and saran wrap which are the three things I would take on a desert island, but after this song, I might prefer to take this album over all three of them. From the opening drum roll to the sick catchy vocals to the make me want to dance on my bed beat and to the the guitar work that takes me back to the classic days of early rock and roll, this song just stole my heart.

“Hard Disagree” must be their single since its the song on their YouTube page. It’s a little more mellow and reminds me a bit more of what I might hear on the first Elvis Costello album though with less snark. The next time someone wants to break up, and you don’t want to break up, don’t argue with them, just play this song. If they don’t dig the song and change their mind, they don’t deserve you.

“Easy to Love” starts with such a classic danceable drum beat. Love the bass line on this one, and the vocals are just as catchy as all the others. I gotta say I wish I’d heard more of this at my 8th grade dance and less Color Me Bad. Ugh.

I can’t overstate how much I’m digging this record. Hopefully the next record release on my label goes well, and I’ll have some extra dough to buy this because I’ll be spinning this nonstop once I get it.

You can check the album on out on Bandcamp where you should buy the album whether it’s a CD, a vinyl or the digital album, I don’t care, just support this band!!
