Rocket Steadman Release New Single: “Kitchen Light”

Why only three people in this pic? Fuck if I know. It’s the one they sent. Fuck the other five.

So what do we have here? An eight-piece ska band with dope horn melodies played with punk intensity? Reminds me a bit of what I’d hear if MxPx were a ska band with horn work that is similar to what I’d expect from early Bosstones.

The song starts with a dope acapella vocal intro before jumping to a very danceable ska which I guess is the point for ska, right?

Interesting. Somewhere around the minute mark when they sing “This guy will never shut up” I hear a buried vocal that sounds like an old man shooing kids off his lawn. Took my 3rd listen to catch that.

I see you drummer with your weird little cymbals and drum fills during the breakdown. I see you.

Shit ends with a rapid fire skacore finish into a closing acapella piece.

Good shit. Good shit indeed.

Here’s a rad video of them live, though it doesn’t seem to have all 8 members…always the problem with a ska band.
