Clitter Critters Release New Single: “Sex Magic”
I cut my teeth on the local DC hardcore scene in the early 90’s, so I have a deep affinity for the riot grrrl music of that time. Listening to “Sex Magic” from Clitter Critters puts me right back into that world where I could be jamming out to early bands like Bikini Kill, L7, Babes in Toyland or later bands like Bantam, Girlush Figure or The Meat Joy. I’d put them right along side bands like Year of the Fist or Cut Rate Druggist of today.
If you dig thick heavy distorted guitar with dual femme vocals supported by locked in bass and drums, wrapped tongue and cheek feminist lyrics, then this shit is for you! Guitar leads are pretty dope too. Also dig the vocal run at about the 1:30 minute mark. Reminds me a bit of Kesha in how it flows.

Also I usually try to find live footage since I’m a live album vinyl record label, instead I found this dope ethnography of the band, and since I’m getting my PhD, I was totally into watching this.
