Spike Polite & Sewage Release New Song: “Florida”

With a name like Spike Polite & Sewage, I could assume there would be some amount of humor in their lyrics—which proved correct. The lyrics to “Florida” are somewhat silly while also tinged with social critique and satire. Then when I look at the whole spikey punked out look, I was prepared for some Blanks 77 pogo punk or some Casualties street punk, but it’s actually more like if The Toy Dolls were an early 90’s skate punk band touring around with Pennywise and The Adolescents.

Despite the topic, the band is from NYC, which means they are somewhat in my neck of the woods, so I’m gonna keep an eye out on them to see if I can catch them live one day in the near future. And yes, I know that I could have seen this past weekend at Punk Island, but I wasn’t able to make the trek to the city, so fuck you.

You can also listen on their Spotify or my Punk Playlist

Make sure to follow them on IG, FB and TikTok and check out their website
