Calling Hours Release New Single: “Curtain Call”

Calling Hours first new single, “Curtain Call”, off their forthcoming vinyl release with Revelation Records is a great mix of 90’s Gainesville style punk a la Hot Water Music with some more modern sounds that could fit on a Turnstile set list. The first thing that grabbed me was the baritone vocals in the verse that delivered a powerful intro to the track. The band is tight as fuck which makes sense because many of them were in bands with one or the other member, so they’ve had years to develop that hidden connection that allows a band to fit in just the right way.

The song is a melodic song with pop punk and post punk qualities harkening to sounds of the past while also fitting into a more current sound that one would expect to hear today.

Judging from their website, they just finished a tour of Europe, so hopefully they’ll hit the road here in the states. They are from Scranton, PA, so NY should be on their list…or maybe they’ll play next year’s Camp Punksylvania in Scranton??
