Forklift Assassins Release New Single: Wake Up (Rapid Eye Movement)
Part surf, part punk, part hardcore, all fucking great. This band brings that 80’s style punk rock that would have fit right in on an Alternative Tentacles release next to Dead Kennedy’s, Butthole Surfers, or No Means No with it’s stream of consciousness style lyrics, hardcore mixed with surf riffage and some cowbell. Through in a little quoting from REM’s song about the world ending, and you’ve got one fucking interesting ass song. They compared themselves to the Cosmic Psychos which is the second time someone has referenced that band to me this week, so I had to check the out. I definitely some of that in the guitar tone as well as the fresh out of give a fucks attitude.

As a drummer, I’m always in awe of the drummer doing lead vocals. I can barely keep my breath while just drumming.
