No Brakes
Three records for people who keep asking the band to play faster.
No easing into it. No mid-set breather. No brakes.
No Brakes brings together three records from RunnAmuckS, Franky and the Slight Incline, and Billy Batts & The Made Men, connected by one very simple idea: punk rock sounds pretty fucking good when everybody plays like they're running out of time.
RunnAmuckS leads things off with the new remixed and remastered edition of their 2003 album Of a Different Breed. Recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, the original lineup tears through raw, fast punk rooted in hardcore, thrash and rock 'n' roll. More than two decades later, Josh "Danger" Dobbs completely remixed and remastered the album at Danger Room Recording Service, keeping all the grit and speed while making the whole thing hit harder. This edition is limited to 200 copies on EcoMix cherry red vinyl and adds previously unreleased covers of Black Flag's "Depression" and The Stooges' "I Got a Right."
Then Franky and the Slight Incline takes the speed and adds complete fucking chaos. Recorded live at The Cave in Chapel Hill, NC, DCxPC Live Vol. 46 captures the Durham band ripping through 15 tracks of old-school hardcore punk, absurdity, aggression and very little concern for keeping things under control. Pressed on EcoMix jade vinyl and limited to 200 copies.
Finally, Atlanta's Billy Batts & The Made Men somehow crams 21 songs into a live set recorded at El Dorado Bar in Troy, NY. Fast songs, short songs, originals, covers and basically zero wasted motion. Recorded by Dez of DCxPC Live and mixed and mastered by Joshua "Danger" Dobbs, DCxPC Live Vol. 41 is 33 minutes of exactly the kind of punk rock this bundle was built for.
Three records. Three different versions of fast.
Normally $59.90 separately. Get all three records for $40.
