Ben Sense Releases New Song: “Somone Needs You Part II”
I reviewed, “El Cerrito", for Ben Senses back in October, so I was stoked to see what new song he sent me last week, and I wasn’t disappointed. “Someone Needs You Part II” off their new album, (Demo)lish Your Pizza, starts off remind me a bit of 1990’s Paul Westerberg due to the opening riffs guitar sound. The vocals are more high pitched with some emo affectation that plays well as a counter point to the thick fuzz of the guitar riff. As one would expect, the song is about trying to find love. I could actually see this as a soundtrack song for the old sitcom How I Met Your Mother in that it’s catchy as fuck and really seems to fit the personality of Ted Mosby’s search for love.
And Yes, there is a “Someone Needs You Part I”, and yes, I had to listen to it as well or else I felt like I’d be missing half the story. It has some of the same guitar crunch, but it’s far slower and has some haunting backing vocals and the drummer does a rad little snare pattern that just fits the song perfectly.
