Toxic Frogs Release New Single: “Lose You Again”
I’ll be honest, I don’t often think of France when I think of Celtic/Irish Punk. I’m enough of a social studies teacher to know that the Irish population in France is not high in comparison to countries where English is the native spoken language. And Yet, here I am jamming the fuck out to “Lose you Again” by the fucking Toxic Frogs from France.
With all that being said, this band does as fucking excellent a job as any band I’ve ever heard of infusing those Celtic sounds to punk rock. Besides your traditional punk instruments you can hear the violins and the banjos in there, and they aren’t perfunctory. They truly add to the song.
The opening vocals phrasing reminds me a little of Stiff Little Fingers. The song comes in one instrument at a time and builds to some kick ass punk rockage. The vocals harmonies are catchy as fuck too.
This band totally needs to come to Florida for The Fest in Gainesville and maybe Foreign Dissent in Orlando before hand.
