Me, Grimlock Releases New Single: “Winning Streak”

Yes, they pulled on my youthful love of the OG Transformer cartoon, animated movie and comic books — loved the mini-series where G.I. Joe blew up Bumblebee, and no they sound nothing like the old 90’s Boston hardcore band Grimlock. So now that we are clear on those burning questions. What does “Winning Streak” by Me, Grimlock sound like?

The verses are very reminiscent of early 90’s skate punk that one could have heard on labels like Fearless Records, Fat, and Epitaph while the choruses tend to bring more of the early 2000’s emo pop punk that was all the rage at the time. And while all of them rock their individual instruments, I couldn’t help but notice some wicked ass Matt Freeman-esque bass playing that could have been just a louder in the mix.

All and all this is a solid as fuck first single by this new band from Seattle, and I’m stoked to hear what comes next.

You can check out their music on Bandcamp:
