Marc-Alan Prince Releases New EP: Unforgiven

At first met Marc-Alan Prince when they were drumming for Some Kind of Nightmare on one of their many tours, and then I checked out their solo acoustic stuff, and I was like hot fucking damn this shit is sick! So I was super stoked when they sent me a copy of their new EP: Unforgiven

Marc-Alan Prince’s folk punk is heartfelt and earnest with easy comparisons to artists like Chuck Ragan, Jacob Danielsen-Moore and maybe some Day N’ Daze due to the moments when they bring that gravel to bear on their vocals for that tasty rasp that I love so much. I even hear a little of Off with Their Heads if you listen to their acoustic albums. I’ll be honest there is a quality in their voice that really reminds of a specific artist or band, but I can’t fucking figure it out. It’s killing me, but that’s okay it just means I’ll have to keep playing these songs until it hits me. And since they are so fucking good, that’s really not a problem.

This six song EP is so good, I’ve listened to it at least a dozen times this week. I love the instrumentation and the lyrics are meaningful and yet ambiguous enough that I’m able to construct my own meaning to make them personal. I only wish it were on vinyl.

Go to Bandcamp to check out these 5 OG tunes plus a rad cover of “One Last Shot” by Nowherebound who I admit to being totally ignorant of before hearing Marc-Alan’s cover, but I’m glad I did because I found a new band that I can really fuck with.

You can also check it out “Unforgiven” on YouTube

Or give it a listen on their Spotify or my (Folk) Punk Playlist

Make sure to follow them on IG, FB, TikTok and whatever else the fuck they have on their Linktree

Want to mail a vinyl for review? Message me at dcpcbooking@gmail.com for the address

No tapes and no CDs, I can’t play either of them

Also make sure to check out DCxPC Live’s store where I have vinyl release of live albums by amazing hardcore, punk, ska and metal bands! We are a small DIY record label doing our best to document the scene we love in the way we love it most—LIVE!

If you dig Marc-Alan Prince, I’d check out my four-way split with Sticky Steve, Borrowed Sparks, Jacob Danielsen-Moore and Dougie Flesh and the Slashers!
