Cross Dog Releases New Single: “Jane Roe”

Before I even realized that the Cross Dog was just drums and bass, their sound brought to mind bands like Evil Beaver and Cut-Rate Druggist who both have also left out guitar in their blend of punk, metal and grunge. Their recent single, “Jane Roe”, starts with an electronic dance beat that also makes me think of Le Tigre.

If the title didn’t give it away, this angry tour de force directs it’s aim at The Supreme Court’s decision to remove women’s reproductive rights, and I for one always appreciate when the song is musically fucking killer and the lyrics are meaningful and in-your face to match the aggression of the song.

“Our rights are human rights, we’re never going back” is a chant I’d love to hear at every show if possible.

They’d have been a perfect opening for when I saw L7 and Gina Volpe a couple of weeks ago.

I highly encourage you all to check them out on Bandcamp and preorder their new vinyl released by Stomp Records!

You can also check them out on their Spotify or my Punk Playlist or my Indie Rock/Grunge Playlist

And as always since I’m a live album vinyl record label, I try to find live footage. I couldn’t find anything really recent, but something tells me they still fuck shit up now as much as they did several year ago:

Make sure to follow them on their socials: IG , TikTok , FB, and their Linktree
