Monte Releases New Single: “Dysfunctional Mess”

Monte’s new song, “Dysfunctional Mess” blends grunge, punk and metal into a rad ass fucking single about pulling your shit together and finding a way come out of a band relationship better than you were when you went in. Yeah you fucked me up, but I came back better, so fuck you right back.

With the opening riff, I thought I was in for a dope ass glam metal type of song like I’d hear on the Peacemaker soundtrack or I’d have seen playing the Whiskey back in the 1980s, but then the verse kicks in with a fucking killer punk verse with big hooks that reminds me of Bad Cop / Bad Cop who are on of my favorite bands of the last few years.

It’s followed by a face melting metal style solo where I could see people doing the finger waving as they lean of the stage and light lighters and rub their hands together to show how hot the fucking solo is. If you know what I’m talking about you, then you know. If not….

Then it slows down and goes back into the previous lyrics but a bit slower though no less powerful. It’s kind of like, maybe I spoke to fast the first time, so let me slow down and make sure you’re getting my fucking point.

And then it just fades out leaving you ready for the next attack of awesome from a band that knows what it means to rock.

Check out the song for yourself and buy some of their shit on Bandcamp:

They’ve also got a dope official video:

You can also check them out on their Spotify or my Punk Playlist

Please follow their IG and their FB too.

Of course since I’m a live album vinyl record label, I found some dope footage of them live at Arlene’s Grocery (I haven’t played there in decades!)

Since they are NYC, and I live Woodstock now, I’d be down to show trade with them for sure. I love playing shows, but I love them more when I play with dope bands like this.

Want to mail a vinyl for review? Message me at dcpcbooking@gmail.com for the address

No tapes and no CDs, I can’t play either of them

Also make sure to check out DCxPC Live’s store where I have vinyl release of live albums by amazing hardcore, punk, ska and metal bands! We are a small DIY record label doing our best to document the scene we love in the way we love it most—LIVE!

If you’re a fan of Monte, I think I’d recommend either our 12” split with Middle-Aged Queers / Raging Nathans or our 12” with Antagonizör
