Sorry Sweetheart Release New Single: “Sweatpants (Are All That Fit Me Right Now)”

Sorry Sweatheart’s new single “Sweatpants (Are All That Fit Me Right Now)” bring that 1990’s ska punk that reminds me mostly of bands like Reel Big Fish particularly with the ways the horns are incorporated and the guitar tone.

The opening is a solid punk riff punctuated with poweful horns before it goes into a pop punk verse that reminds me a bit of MxPx. It’s all very catchy and well crafted and really takes me back 30 years.

The breakdown around the 1:30 mark adds a bit more angry and angst to it to smooth out the pop.

This is followed by some traditional style ska where the horn takes center stage and show you that they are more than accents. They can carry the fucking song.

It’s the first song I’ve heard by this Denver, CO group, but I’m hoping it won’t be my last.

You can check out on Bandcamp:

You can also listen on their Spotify or my Ska Playlist or my Punk Playlist.

Since I’m a live album vinyl record label, I had to find some live shit to check out:
