Stefan West Releases New Single: “Happily Ever After”

Stefan West reminds me of Dave Hause mixed with the Weakerthans with is mix of pop punk, emo and folk punk. “Happily Ever After” is aptly named as the song has a nostalgic and wistful tone, reflecting on the passage of time and the desire to hold on to moments of youthful joy and love. My favorite line is “This faded vintage feeling” reflects a longing for the past, akin to old polaroid pictures hidden away in one’s mind. The desire for a sunken anchor mixed with the foresight of the inevitable cliff ahead speaks to the desire to at least remain still in some sort of comfortable stability despite knowledge that the future can not be avoided.
