Mr. P. Reviews Dope Music
Stay Idle Releases New Song: “The Algorhythm”
Stay Idle’s new song “The Algorhythm” mixes the mainstream sounds of bands like Sum 41 with more unique sounds of bands like Refused into a garage punk track for all to enjoy.
Sick Move Release New Single: “Hey Ma”
Sick Move are back with another killer song, “Hey Ma” and it fucking rips. It’s got the intensity of Kid Dynamite or Paint it Black and reminds me a bit of the old Baltimore band, Ruiner, or the old DC band, Crispus Attucks.
GROTTONAUT Releases New Single: “Because”
GROTTONAUT’s new single, “Because”, opens with sticks on the rim of the snare and then two staccato guitar riffs that reminds me of the opening to Offspring’s “Come out and Play” but that is where the similarity between these two bands ends.
Nina’s Yard Party Releases 1st Single: “Boom Beat Your Heart”
I love it when I hear a song, and I just dig it without any background on the band.
Lemongrab Release New Single: “Winter Deprimiert”
This is one of those dope ass songs where I can’t say it sounds like A or B, because they meld so many different influences into their own thing.
The Sons of James Release New Single: “Against My Will”
“Against My Will” by The Sons of James follows the musical path in the two previous singles I reviewed “Boswell” and “All They Told You” i.e. a mix of Pennywise, No Use for a Name and other Fat/Epitaph bands and would have been a standout band on either label’s well known compilations.
Coma Beach Releases New Single: “Extreme Masochist”
My love for this band is not a secret. I’ve written two reviews on past songs “Jesus’s Tears” and “Another Song” in which I’ve compared the vocalist to Leatherface or The Beltones with occasional backing vocals akin to the snotty 70’s British punk band.
Smile Deadly Releases New Single: “Forgiven Me”
Smile Deadly plays punk rock that speaks to their name.
The Fit Release New Single: “Madness Today”
This is some super danceable uptempo old school ska delivered with raspy lead vocals, super catchy backing vocals and a well orchestrated horn section!
Rusted Teeth Release New Single: “All I Want”
Poland’s Rusted Teeth released “All I Want” about one month ago, and my only regret about taking this long to do the review is that I could have been listening to this shit sooner.
pink suits Release New Single: “C.O.F.F.E.E.”
I reviewed an earlier pink suits single, “Refuse the Rules”, a little while back, so I was stoked to receive this new single.
Lost Legion Releases New Single: “Silhouettes in Blue Light”
I reviewed “Dressed Up Like a Warrior” by Lost Legion not too long ago, so I was stoked to get their new single “Silhouettes in Blue Light” to review.
frick. Released a New Single: “Zig-Zag”
frick. is a garage punk band from SLC with distinct garage and noise influences.
Gender Reveal Atomic Bomb Release New Single: “Party Animals”
Having recently reviewed a previous single from this band, I was stoked to review Gender Reveal Atomic Bomb’s new single “Party Animals” which is just making me fucking smile from ear to ear.
Scooped Up Release New Single: “Slingshot”
This is another solid angsty pop punk song about the troubles of being alive.
The Lovina’s Release a New Single: “Growing Pains”
The Lovina’s new song “Growing Pains” has that punk mixed with indie singer songwriter sound that reminds me mostly of Paul Westerberg or some Bob Mould.
Powerwasher Releases New Single: “Crossing the Street”
So many parts, so much happening. It’s like an entropic cacophony of fuck. I’m not even sure where to start.
Red Kate Released New Album: “Exit Strategy”
I first caught wind of this no nonsense politically charged punk band a few months back when I reviewed “Home of the Slave” which was a banger of a tune. So I was stoked to check out a few tunes form their new album Exit Strategy!
Death Spell Releases New Single: “Leave You Lying on the Ground”
I gotta say I’m really digging this stoner metal power trio that is Death Spell!
Seppsis Releases First Single: “Rich Future”
Seppsis are a German metal band with punk influences akin to a mix of Motorhead, Black Sabbath and The Misfits, and their new song is a polemic attack on the hypocrisy of capitalism.
