Mr. P. Reviews Dope Music
Bobby Wallisch Jr. & Acid.Prof Release New Single: “Pánta Rheî”
I’m really into Bobby Wallisch Jr. & Acid.Prof ‘s new single,“Pánta Rheî”
Proud House of Schmucks Releases New Single: “On Strike”
I really dug Proud of of Schmucks last release, “Manic”, that I reviewed back in October, so I was stoked to get sent their new release, “On Strike”!
The Bad Actors Release New Single: “Nothing Comes to Mind”
The Bad Actors new single, “Nothing Comes to Mind”, is a power pop tune for the whole family. It has that 50s/60s rock single sound mixed with some early Elvis Costello topped off with just a dose of pop punk.
Ricky Rochelle Releases New 7”: “Cannibal Island Resort”
For those of you familiar with The Young Rochelles ,you’ll immediately get that Ricky Rochelle’s newest release, Cannibal Island Resort, is Ricky’s tribute to that classic piece of Ramonescore released 10 years ago by The Young Rochelles i.e. Cannibal Island.
Mr. Max Releases New Single: “Semi-Pro”
Mr. Max mixes punk, grunge and garage rock into something both new and familiar.
Just One Fix Releases New Single: “Gods and Devils”
Gods & Devils by Just One Fix is a thrashtastic metal banger that harkens back to the days of Nuclear Assault, early Slayer, and initially reminded me at the beginning of Megadeth’s “Holy Wars”.
Tangent Release New Single: “Stop and Think”
The best is how impossible it is to pigeonhole this beyond saying its metal with hardcore influences.
Graveyard Dogs Release New Single: “Can’t See”
So while I may not live in Orlando anymore, thanks to friends down there who tell me about dope new bands, I’m fully aware of one of Orlando’s newest bands, Graveyard Dogs whose new single, “Can’t See” is a fucking blast of punk, hardcore and metal all blended together into the awesome.
Suicide Puppets Release New EP: Beyond the Veil!
Suicide Puppets have released a brutal industrial metal EP, Beyond the Veil! This five song banger rips from start to fucking finish. Each song appears to be related to some aspect of a serial killers mind or actions. A perfect topic for a band that has it’s pulse on how to bring the fucking evil metal.
TERRA Releases New Single: “Hellraiser”
Terra has that hardcore mixed with metal and vocals that at times remind me of Max from Sepultura/Soulfly but delivered with a NYHC vocal pattern.
Night Slasher Releases New Single: “Black Trip”
I could see these dudes rocking the stage with Mercyful Fate or Venom and doing quite well with their crowd.
The Riverbed Release New Single: “Confessional”
With influences from old thrashers like Megadeth and later groove metal bands like Lamb of God, The Riverbed’s newest single “Confessional” is thrashtastic slab of metal up my ass.
Cascade Riot Release New EP: “Life on Venus”
So right off the bat their first song. “P.N.C.” sounds like a Green Day song that I’d hear on early albums like Kerplunk.
Storm Boy Releases New EP: “With a Gasp That Reached to the Sky”
Listened to the whole thing through 2-3 times before I started this review, and I was immediately taken back to one of my favorite split albums: Leatherface and Hot Water Music. If you dug that release (and if you have heard it, I know you did), then you’re gonna love these bangers.
Art of Deception Release New Single and Video: “Isolated”
Art of Deception from PA, bring a fucktastic dose of metalcore mixed with deathcore
Dea & Saint Release New Single: “Shark Tank”
Dea & Saint don’t fit the archetypical sound of a punk rock band, but their mixture of hip hop and trap isn’t really that far a departure since I’ve always considered the souls of punk rock and hip hop to be connected in their opposition to oppression.
King in Yellow Releases New Single: “The Chelsea, At Night”
King in Yellow hail from Kingston, NY which is in my neck of the woods in the Hudson Valley of New York which makes this review all the more exciting because I get to really dig into a song of a local band that I’m gonna do my best to catch live in the near future.
Goodbye Dyna Releases New Single: “Punk Rock Queen”
Ever wondered what an indie rock band largely influenced by The Beatles and Pink Floyd would sound like if they were a punk band that would have fit on any 90’s punk compilation put out by Epitaph Records or Fat Wreckchords? No? Me either, but luckily, this band has delivered the goods that I didn’t know I needed.
Late Night Lies Releases New Single: “Hot Tub”
Fun and silly pop punk that reminds me of a mix between The Aquabats (w/o the ska), Nerf Herder and Bowling for Soup.
Fireman Releases New Song: “World Peace, Eventually”
This is some rad ass politically charged hardcore punk rock. It mixes the veins of 80’s hardcore a la Minor Threat and Gorilla Biscuits with late 90’s hardcore of bands like Strike Anywhere and Lifetime with touches of Bad Religion.
