Mr. P. Reviews Dope Music
Restroyer Releases New Single: “Parasite”
Restroyer’s opening riff to “Parasite” made me think of Strung Out right off the bat.
L.A. Sagne Released a New Single: “Kids Online”
Clocking in at just over one minute, “Kids Online” by L.A. Sagne is fucking banger.
Piece Releases New Single: “Blood Sheets”
This DIY duo of “sickness” reminds me of shit maybe Big Black would have done.
The Riggs Release New Single: “All I Wanna Do”
The Riggs “All I wanna Do” has that early 90’s skate punk / pop punk sound a la early Offspring or Millencolin.
Hand First Release New Single: “Actor”
Brooklyn’s Hand First mix garage rock and post hardcore /post punk into a powerful blend that has me wanting to dance and sing along.
The Lost Cause Release New Single: “17”
The Lost Cause play a mix of 1970’s British punk rock n’ roll and modern pop punk.
Pyomai Release New Single: “Weighing on Me”
Pyomai mixes melodic hardcore, post-hardcore and metalcore into it’s own unique blend.
Layul Releases New Single: “New Jersey”
With a vocal tone that remind me of Atom and his Package, Layul sings some catchy acoustic punk rock with lyrics lambasting New Jersey because…well it’s fucking New Jersey, so I don’t think this really has to be explained
Who Asked for This? Releases New Single: “40 of Oldie”
Who Asked for This? Well I have no fucking idea, but I’m glad someone did, cause I’m fucking love it!
Reconciler Releases New Single: “Never Fade Away”
Reconciler are a three-piece melodic punk band very similar to my old buddies in Florida, Debt Neglector, which make sense since they are both on Smart Punk Records.
Beach Bønes Release New Single: “Nic Caged”
I don’t know if cagecore is a thing, but if Beach Bønes plus Minimum Rage are examples of what it is, call me a fucking fan.
Suffocate Faster Release New Single: “It Ends Now”
Hells yeah! This stuff takes me back to the mid-to-late 90’s hardcore scene!
Self-Torque Release New Single: “No Rest”
My first listen to Self-Torque’s new single was to think this sounds like an early Dischord band if they released pop punk and if they somehow managed to be influenced by Against Me! and Hot Snakes.
Good Teal Release New Single: “Freefall”
Alright Good Teal, I see you. Influenced by the likes of Scowl, Turnstile, and DRAIN, Good Teal bring a sonic mosaic that mixes punk, post hardcore, and metal into a sound all of their own.
Irked Release New Single: “Backstreets”
Oh this is some rad ass shit and judging by the lyrical content, the ferocity of the music, and the righteously venomous anger and resentment that emanate from the vocals, to say they are irked is quite the understatement.
Black Magic Holiday and Drew Mulholland Release New Single: “Posh Guy Says C**t 113 Times”
Per BHM’s label, Irregular Patterns, “They are a proto-punk outfit that creates lo-fi experimental music with anarchistic themes. Their work is simultaneously self-conscious and tongue-in-cheek; it pushes the boundaries of decency while vehemently expressing anger yet still manages to laugh at itself. As a label, we view BMH's music in much the same way as Duchamp's infamous urinal from 1917.”
Spider Releases New Single: “Tabula Rasa”
Stoked to hear another single by Spider! I reviewed “Deathmatch” by them a couple of months back and that shit was dope as fuck!
Condition Baker Releases New Single: “How Goes It”
This takes me right back to the winter of 1994 when I first saw Green Day’s “Long View “ on MTV.
Autorub Releases New Single: “Meatball”
Autorub is multi-instrumentalist Michael Corn who somehow manages to blend 90’s grunge like Weezer and Foofighters with touches of Green Dayish pop punk all on top of a bedding made of older classic bands like The Kinks, The Cars or The Clash while sounding nothing like any of these bands i.e. it’s very original, very fun and full of sarcastic humor.
Sunset the Machine Releases New Single: Queen of the Monsters
Sunset the Machine brings that dope ass metal mixed with punk sound.
